Hello, my name is Sérgio Cruz.

From an early age, whenever I was asked the typical question — What do you want to be when you grow up? — I'd reply that I wanted to be a designer, even though I didn't fully understand what that meant. After all, what is design?

For me, design is the constant search for the best way to communicate, solve problems and bring ideas to life. It's transforming abstract concepts into something tangible, functional and aesthetically appealing. More than creating, it's adding meaning, value and identity to each project.

This campaign, entitled 'Escape Inflation, Buy Second-Hand', was developed in an academic context for OLX, an online classified ads platform that makes it easy to buy, sell, and trade used items and services quickly and conveniently.

Since OLX promotes the resale of second-hand products, I sought a creative approach to highlight its relevance in today’s economic landscape. The concept was inspired by inflation and rising prices, which led to the creation of the campaign’s slogan.

To visually represent this idea, I used a red balloon as a symbol of inflation — chosen deliberately for its ability to expand, much like inflated prices. The campaign features visual compositions where the balloon illustrates this phenomenon, demonstrating how using OLX can be a smart way to bypass inflation and save money by choosing second-hand products.
